The product · People & permissions
Who does what, who covers, and a record of everything anyone changed.
Roles and permissions, the org directory, firm-wide announcements, internal messaging, and an append-only audit log.
In the application: Team & permissions · Directory · Announcements · Messages · Audit Logs
- Roles and permissions, per resource
- Each role holds explicit permissions per area, and every read and write in the product is checked against them on the server — not hidden in the sidebar and open to anyone who knows the URL.
- Separation of duties
- The person who requests and the person who approves are different people, checked as a rule rather than as a convention — with a sole-practitioner fallback, because a firm of one still has to be able to work.
- An org directory
- Departments, offices, teams, supervisors and titles — the structure a firm actually has, alongside the permissions, and advisory rather than a second permission system.
- Announcements with acknowledgements
- A firm-wide notice, or one addressed to particular roles or people, with a record of who has acknowledged it — so 'everyone was told' is evidenced rather than assumed.
- Messaging inside the firm
- Conversations attached to the firm and its matters, so the discussion that decides something is in the system that holds the thing it decided.
- An append-only audit log
- Every mutation of a firm-owned record leaves a row: who, what, when, and what changed. It is written on the same transaction as the change, and nothing in the product deletes from it.
What this does not do
The boundary, from us rather than from your first week.
- The audit log is a record, not a backup. It says what changed; restoring is a separate question with a separate answer.
- An org directory is advisory. Moving somebody between teams does not change what they may do — that is a role change, deliberately, so the two cannot be confused.

Verity AI
Grounded in your matters, clients, documents, diary, time and ledger — citing what it used, and proposing rather than acting.
Matters & clients
Matters, the clients behind them, the parties on both sides, and the intake checks that have to clear before any of it starts.
Court diary & deadlines
Hearings, mentions, filing dates and limitation dates — with the cause list the registry published matched against your own matters.
Documents, precedents & signing
A document library with versions and text extraction, a precedent bank that assembles deterministically, native e-signature, and a client portal to sign in.
Time & billing
Time capture, disbursements, fee notes and credit notes, bills of costs on the scale, and retainers that bill themselves.
Accounting & client money
The firm's books, the client account ring-fenced from them, a compliance pack that runs deterministic checks, and every list exportable.
Payroll & leave
Employees, earnings and deductions, payslips delivered to the person, and leave that reaches the pay run instead of being retyped into it.
